This retreat is led by the experienced Portuguese teacher Michele Surya, who has dedicated herself to yoga, meditation, and holistic human care for over 26 years. From this long journey, Michele developed her own method: Yogua. More than a physical practice, Yogua reveals the profound connection between human nature and the elements of the natural world, combining yoga, meditation, feng shui, and breathing techniques. Yogua is based on the principle of ‘undoing’: releasing conditioned patterns, dissolving tension, and opening space for a new form of presence. This approach invites you to slow down, truly listen to yourself, and rediscover harmony between body, mind and spirit. This retreat is aligned with the spring equinox, the moment when day and night are equal, symbolizing balance and renewal.

ABOUT michele Surya

After returning from Australia in 1996, Michele dedicated her life to yoga and the path of inner growth. Her practice integrates Vijnana yoga, meditation, pranayama, asanas, relaxation, and breathing techniques.

Michele is also an experienced bodywork therapist, trained in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurvedic Massage. She also works as a Feng Shui consultant and pregnancy doula.

Today, she teaches and welcomes groups at Quinta do Pinheiro, where many return for her welcoming presence, wisdom, and therapeutic touch.

The Retreat

Located amidst the serenity of the Ria Formosa, Quinta do Pinheiro offers the perfect setting for experiencing yoga in communion with nature. Days begin with a nutritious vegetarian breakfast and end with dinners prepared by a Portuguese chef, who emphasizes the authentic flavors of the region. To preserve the atmosphere of presence and clarity, alcohol is not served—except for the final celebratory toast. During breaks, there is time to relax by the pool, explore the gardens, or hike the nature reserve’s trails.

Cancellations made before February 4, 2026 will receive a 100% refund of the total amount paid. Cancellations made after this date will not receive any refund.
